Design Inspiration: HP Spectre Laptop
I am continuing with our Design Inspiration Series, this time I am going to discuss a laptop that has provide lots of good design inspiration, The Spectre by HP. This is a good product to focus on since most of us are currently working from home and most likely working on a laptop. Why not have a laptop that looks amazing and functions well.
First, I wanted to share a little bit more about myself when it comes to buying a personal products for myself or the company. I research the living daylights out of what option are out there, before I make any purchases. I try not to settle for a product that does not compliment our design philosophies. For our company laptop I wanted a slim, beautiful, reliable and powerful machine. HP a few years back came out with the Spectre line. These laptops are sleek with contrasting colors of grey and gold. The gold is in the right places to frame the laptops minimalist silhouette. The speakers for the laptop was designed by Bang & Olufsen, the speaker holes have a unique and mesmerizing geometric pattern. Small details like the gold accents on the hinges matched the rest of the laptop. Another important feature is the ability to draw on the screen and the Spectre line does a decent job in pen response.
The Spectre is incredibly thin, lightweight, fast and a powerful solid state drive makes it reliable. When traveling I use Solidworks and this laptop can do simple modeling on the go. You can tell this laptop was designed with thought and consideration from a industrial designer, making it not only useful but a inspiring design.
