Inspirational Designer: Daniel Simon

Majority of people won’t know who Daniel Simon is but you will defiantly know his work. Which includes futuristic vehicles in major block buster movies such as Tron Legacy, Oblivion, Captain America and Prometheus. He is a rock star in the Industrial Design field and he trained in automotive design. Daniel started his career working for the Volkswagen Group’s advanced studio where he made contributions to Lamborghini and Bugatti. From there he branches off and started to work on futuristic vehicle concepts. He displays his great creativity with the release of the Cosmic Motors book. In the book Daniels shows futuristic vehicles and the environments to match it. Cosmic Motors beautifully organizes sketches and movie grade 3D renders.

In 2016 Daniel designed an autonomous racing car, called Robocar. This actually came to life on the race track. Today they are still testing and revising the Robocar. Daniel Simon made a career on dreaming of the future. This is why he is a great inspiration not only to me, but to other fellow industrial designers. He reminds us to keep our imaginations wild and growing. Without crazy ideas we won’t have innovation.
